Hey Kyle,
Great post! It is such a good point to really focus on who we are as an individual when we are determining our brand.

At first I was going to create my brand around eating disorders because I myself grew up with them and know A LOT about them - perhaps more than I'd like to! So this is the path I started on. But what I soon realized was that although I can totally work with people with eating disorders, my heart was not totally in it. I found my energy drained by trying to blog on this topic.

So I had to do a switch to what really fired me up. And this is relationships! As someone who suffered from eating disorders I know all too well how isolating it can be.

Anyway, I've just started out blogging on relationships and it is coming so naturally to me. What I've realized now too is that I can still market to eating disorders clients but through the lense of creating amazing relationships!

Thanks so much for your post :)

Kyle, this was beautifully written..

Personal Branding is concept that most people have a problem understanding - it's not a sticker, a slogan or a logo (like in the traditional sense) it's your character, your strengths, and your ability to showcase those characteristics and strengths to the world.

This was a great post..
thanks for sharing it with us

talk soon

Most of us are taught that boasting is prideful and it is, there is no way around it. Here is how someone like myself overcame that issue. Each time I speak about my branding, or what I do, I say that I am increasing human life, adding value to others and I want to add to yours as well if you'll let me. Much of my information is spiritually based and most will judge, but the fact of the matter is only God knows my heart and as long as I am bringing hope, joy and glory to my creator and to others, this sense of pride no longer holds me back. Hope that helps someone who reads the comments on your site Kyle because I am positive there are many who view confidence as arrogance and sinful. I love your info by the way. Be back soon!

Awesome article! Branding yourself is key. Confidence will grow with time as each marketer finds their own voice and consistently delivers their message. Checking back through personal development books and performing self-assessments can help you isolate your strengths as well. Definitely dig your article, its an important message.

I think that confidence is a key element, as is consistency. When I first started online, I went through a kind of branding adolescence where I was unsure who/what I wanted to be - after a while I settled on a brand and realized that the only way to be successful was to be consistent with how I represented myself! Thanks for this great post.
