Good friend, professional life coach and Utah native, Tiffany Walke Peterson, was featured on Studio 5.
She spoke on celebrating change and more importantly changes you can manage.
Take small steps. If your change, or goal, is too big you will begin to feel overwhelmed which always leads to procrastination.
“The important thing when it comes to change is that you get into any form of action”
The 3 baby steps that Tiffany recommends are:
- Begin with the end in mind. See the outcome of what you want to achieve. Connect with the feeling that is associated with achieving your goal. Visualize yourself at the finish line.
- Follow 15 Minute Rule. Instead of looking in your calender to find an hour or two to write a book, organize that space, or exercise only look for 15 minutes. Everyone has 15 minutes and in that time you give your goal or task focused effort. If you get into the consistent habit of focusing on your projects for 15 minutes the time spent will begin to compound and you will quickly have achieved your goal.
- Find a Buddy. Find a partner or friend who is going to hold you accountable. Too often when we are left to ourselves we fall prey to “doing it later”. We fall into the thought process of being to tired or to busy to work on my goal. We tend to put off until tomorrow. ”It is not your ability that will determine your results. It is your accountability”.
“Accountability is the key to success”
